We are extremely proud to introduce you to our Investment Department team. This group of seasoned experts is dedicated to overseeing all investment operations and leading the company towards its goal of becoming a leading venture building company.

In today's ever-changing market, having a team of professionals who can provide the company with the guidance and expertise needed to make sound investment decisions is crucial. Our investment department is staffed with experts who have years of experience in the field. They're well-versed in the latest market trends, financial instruments, and investment vehicles, and they use this knowledge to develop strategies that deliver results.

The Investment Department

The team is composed of five members who bring a diverse range of skills and expertise to the table. They have a proven track record of success and many years of experience in various fields, including alternative finance, tech startups, international capital transactions, investment group structuring, software design, Web 3 and blockchain technologies, tokenomics, and more. Together, they have the knowledge and experience necessary to excel in the complex and ever-changing world of tech ventures and investments.

Led by the Head of Investment, Leszek Skowron, the Investment Department is a critical component of ICEO's operations. The team members, Karol Król, Dominik Pasler, Jacek Bajorek, and Piotr Kubasik, work closely with Mr. Skowron and the rest of the ICEO staff to achieve their goals.

Functions and Responsibilities

The department manages fundraising efforts and oversees a portfolio of companies in which we hold a stake. They also support ideation and validation processes, create analyses for building business and financial models, and develop fundraising strategies.

Furthermore, the team provides support for projects at the spin-out and scale-up stages, helping to prepare for rounds and engage in collaborative partnerships with key partners and stakeholders. They monitor the performance of the investments and make any necessary adjustments to ensure that they continue to generate returns for the company.

Meet the Team Members

Join us as we take a closer look at the ICEO Investment Department team and learn more about their their specific areas of expertise and responsibilities. With no further ado, let us introduce you to our team members:

• Leszek Skowron – Head of Investment Department 

With 13 years of experience in venture capital, Leszek Skowron is a true expert in the field. He's co-founded one of the most active technology accelerators in Poland, and he's supported and supervised the companies in the investment portfolios of funds he's co-managed. He's overseen returns on investment of up to several dozen times (including Poltreg S.A.). As chairman of the supervisory board, he coordinated the IPO process of SDS Optic, which was recognized as the best stock debut of the year 2022. Skowron has a proven track record of managing investment portfolios that have raised more than ten times their original value. He's also a recipient of the "Friendly Investor 2022" 3rd place  award from Rebells Valley institution.

• Karol Król – Senior Investment Associate

Karol Król is a pioneer of alternative finance in Europe, creator of crowdinvesting sector in Poland; author of books; angel investor. He's created and developed fintech, legaltech, and modern wellbeing companies over his 11-year career. Król has developed and implemented innovative solutions in the capital market and raised financing for companies and non-profit organizations. He was responsible for the development of fundraising and digital finance platforms with a volume of over PLN 1.3 billion. Król was also an advisor to the boards of directors of several well-known companies, including Bank Pekao, Rank Progress, Warsaw Stock Exchange, Orange Polska, and Raiffeisen.

• Dominik Pasler - ICEO Red 1 Fund Partner

As the only Polish person admitted to the Venture Capital program for fund managers at Columbia University in New York in 2023, Dominik Pasler brings a unique perspective to ICEO's Investment department. He has ten years of experience in healthtech and medtech startups, serving as a board member in joint-stock companies in the healthcare industry, including KCM Clinic S.A. Pasler has also co-founded several medtech startups, including product and service startups in countries such as Oman, Kuwait, Nigeria, and Kenya. From 2018 to 2020, he served as an advisor to PFR/PAIH, on the foreign expansion of Polish companies to the African continent. He is an investor and business angel in five startups, including two Unicorns: Cera+ and Shiftsmart. He participated in the exits of Polish and foreign investments, some of which achieved fifty-fold growth. He also has experience in the exit of his own startup, where he served as CEO.

• Jacek Bajorek – ICEO Red 1 Fund Partner

Jacek Bajorek is an expert in international capital transactions and structuring of investment groups. He's been a legal counsel since 1996, public procurement arbitrator, and university lecturer. He runs his own business and specializes in providing services to private limited companies. Bajorek has been in charge of Dominika Kulczyk's Wealth Management and acted as a consultant to the World Bank, member of the supervisory boards of Telekomunikacja Polska, Bank Ochrony Środowiska and NFOŚiGW. His investment portfolio includes real estate, listed companies, as well as technology and Web3.0 startups.

• Piotr Kubasik – Senior Investment Associate

Piotr Kubasik has a wealth of experience in blockchain technology and cryptocurrency. From 2017 to 2021, he was responsible for the design and quality of software produced at OM Group's Sofware House. He designed new functionalities based on blockchain technology. He successfully designed and coordinated the implementation of AML/KYC

user verification software. He also designed trading automation software, as well as an in-house decentralized exchange. In 2021, he managed a purchasing group worth one million PLN that focused on investments in cryptocurrency projects. In 2022, he joined Norion as a Tokenomics and Token Economy Specialist, where he's been responsible for leading the Zondacrypto project, involving the design of tokenomics and the development of innovative solution concepts. In recent months, he has supported Zondacrypto's client in the area of fundraising, taking care of investor relations, preparation of financial models and materials for investors.
